● Monitoring and evaluating the quality of teaching and learning within the subject area.
● Supporting student development and achievement within the subject of English.
● Ensuring that students’ work is regularly assessed and the assessments recorded; developing Assessment for Learning.
● Managing and developing the curriculum through regular review of schemes of work: developing use of the IB/SASS Learner Profile.
● Identifying, leading and implementing opportunities for interdisciplinary work and skills development.
● Developing and supporting a productive, positive and effective team of 10 staff members.
● Coaching and mentoring staff within the area.
● Identifying staffing needs, professional development and planning in service training for subject teachers.
● Communicating effectively and efficiently with others in the team, school and its community.
● Implementing all agreed school policies and actively promoting a whole school vision while working to innovate, develop and implement whole school priorities.
